Heads on Crooked is an emerging Edinburgh-based theatre company offering the antidote to kitchen sink dramas. A collective of writers, directors, designers and producers from all over the world, we're focused on supporting early-career theatre makers in sharing their weirdest and wonderfullest work with equally weird and wonderful audiences.
Our company is run non-traditionally – with a focus on skill-sharing and collaboration – a spirit which is tangible throughout our plays.
We are committed to destigmatising experimental theatre, and in doing so, creating joy, laughter, and community in Scotland's capital city.
We aim to produce never-before-seen work championing underrepresented new voices whilst developing new routes into a critically underfunded sector.

TILL SCHINDLER
is a playwright, dramaturg and actor born and raised in Berlin, Germany. After doing assistant dramaturgy work at the Schaubühne, he relocated to Edinburgh because German theatre is too well funded.
His work is about understanding the mechanisms of everyday life and society; how to belong – and failing miserably trying to do so.
He takes comfort in the fact that society is entirely made up and – at the very least – makes for good theatre.
LOLA ROSE WOOD
is a writer and theatre-maker based between Scotland and London whose work is rooted in intersectional eco-feminist praxis and the everyday absurd. Her plays play with genre and form to explore how the ‘human’ (whatever that means) responds to inhumane systems and non-human ways of being.
